Tabby Terrace is a cozy cat cafe tucked away on Antelope Walk in Dorchester, offering a calm retreat for cat lovers and anyone looking to unwind in a relaxed, animal-friendly environment. This spot is centered around four rescue cats who are clearly well cared for, living comfortably in clean, well-kept surroundings. Visitors often find themselves drawn into gentle interactions with the cats, who can be playful or contentedly sleepy, making it a quiet yet engaging place to connect with these furry companions.

The entry fee contributes directly to the care of the cats, which helps maintain the cafe’s atmosphere where feline well-being is clearly a priority. Staff here are attentive without being overwhelming, approachable, and mindful of guests’ comfort — whether you're stopping by alone for a moment’s calm or bringing family members, including children with different needs. The welcoming, inclusive vibe suits a range of visitors, from casual cat fans to those seeking a soothing spot away from the usual cafe hustle.

Inside, the seating is comfortable and arranged to encourage easy interaction with the cats, who seem to enjoy the company, often exploring laps or nearby spots where guests put down boxes or treats. The food and drinks emphasize simple, well-prepared items like paninis and coffee, offered at fair prices that align with the cafe’s community-friendly focus. Visitors appreciate the relaxed pace here — quieter moments tend to allow the cats to be more interactive — making mid-mornings or early afternoons good times to visit.

Overall, Tabby Terrace fits seamlessly into Dorchester’s local scene as a lifestyle spot where animal welfare meets casual socializing. Whether you’re a local looking for a gentle break during the day or a traveler hoping to experience the city’s quieter corners, this cafe’s peaceful charm and genuine care for its feline residents create an inviting atmosphere that’s both comforting and quietly lively.

Truly lovely cafe, very clean, staff were friendly, polite could not do enough to make us all comfortable. There are 4 adorable cats who are clearly well looked after and loved. £4 entry fee per person was totally reasonable as it goes towards looking after the cats. There is a clear sign on the door that says about the fee so no surprises when it came to paying. Can't wait to go back again.

staff are very friendly and cats look very happy. clearly well taken care of, lots of treats, sleep, and play. they can be a bit shy at times but they're so cute as they bounce around. the food is nice, staff are supportive and accomodative, and prices are fair. very nice atmosphere and comfortable seating. i love the sheet with the photos of the cats where they introduce them all and their backgrounds, and the drawings all over the walls were really nice. hopefully will come back another day

We had the most amazing time today, you can instantly tell that it's run by people who truly love and care for cats. They were all incredibly well looked after, really happy and content, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The whole place was very clean and tidy and the food was delicious! I can't wait to come back again and support such a wonderful business

Stumbled across this cat cafe by accident on my birthday (as a big cat lover - hence the jumper!) and so glad we did! 4 beautiful rescue cats that were interactive with us - I recommend putting a box on your lap or near you as they loved that! Delicious panini's and coffee as well. Very reasonably priced as well and we lucked out with the cafe being quiet when we went so could have the cats full attention! Thoroughly recommend a visit here

Delightful experience. Beautiful peaceful cafe lovely empathetic friendly staff. Even with my autistic sister being quite noisy the cats still came over and checked out her wheelchair. Staff and cats were amazing with my four year old who absolutely loved her experience feeding them treats. Cats were super friendly extremely happy and well looked after. Prices for food and drink very reasonable too.

I've been here since day one! I love it; especially the cats! The staff have always been helpful, kind and super accommodating. It's lovely to see their all are genuine animal lovers and I've enjoyed watching the cats grow. Mr.Beans is my favourite but very difficult to photograph. The cats seem very happy and all have their own wonderful personalities. The food is lovely and the coffee is nice. Thank you Tabby Terrace!

Had a great time with my friend visiting Tabby Terrace for the first time! We went in for breakfast and to meet the most adorable kittens/cats. The owner was lovely, seated me at a table while I waited for a friend, and gave me a waiver to sign, which i was absolutely fine with, and she was more than happy for us to switch tables to a table my friend preferred. The menu is small but well executed. You cant go wrong with a bacon butty! Polite service and great time meeting your 4 gorgeous kittens. Thank you!

The café is very cute, staff are nice and the cats are adorable! I understand some people's complaints around them only having 4 cats, as they can tend to concentrate around the same places, and if you're not lucky enough to be around the area they choose, you won't get to interact much. However, I'm sure they have a good reason to not have introduced more cats yet, whether it's for financial reasons or waiting for the right rescues. You can tell their cats are very well taken care of and any others to come will be lucky
